Nurses for Newborns Foundation
Nurses for Newborns Foundation (NFNF) provides a safety net for families most at risk. The organization helps prevent infant mortality, child abuse, and neglect through in-home nursing visits. Their nurses provide health care and education, while encouraging positive parenting skills.
Bottom line: NFNF saves babies.
FlatTop Technology developed several tools to aid NFNF in their baby-saving efforts. Nurses use a custom stand-alone desktop application during their home visits to enter important medical information about the babies and caregivers. The office staff uses a custom client-server desktop application to record new referrals, assign nurses to cases, and provide rapid responses to inquiries from doctors, hospitals, insurance agencies, underwriters, and government organizations. Nurses exchange data with their central office using a custom synchronization tool through which they receive new cases and send visit data in seconds, even over a slow dial-up connection.
The reporting features of the new system are outstanding. The organization runs reports in seconds that used to take months to compile manually. Since most of the reports are available through the web, the entire staff has immediate access to critical information from anywhere in the world. And the board of directors and managers have at their fingertips information about the performance of each of their offices and programs in both cities, ultimately allowing NFNF to provide better service to their clients.
NFNF is headquartered in St. Louis, MO, with an additional office in Nashville, TN. They have been a satisfied FlatTop Technology client for over 8 years.
